PBT was very honored to be invited to have a personal meeting with Karmiel’s Mayor, Adi Eldar. He has been Mayor for the city since 1988 and has achieved many wonderful things for the city of Karmiel including building a beautiful park which he invited us to view from his private chambers. He spoke very highly about Pittsburgh and the sister city partnership between it and Karmiel. Adi Eldar was also in attendance of our performance last night at the Karmiel Dance Festival.
Karmiel is a young city in Israel which was established in 1964 and now has a population of about 50,000. The Mayor also told us how Karmiel is known as one of the greenest cities in Israel. Karmiel is especially known for the Karmiel Dance Festival.
